How is Aloe Vera useful in treating frostbite?

I am suffering from frostbite infection. My skin becomes hard, pale and there is some painful sensation. One of my friends suggested me to use aloe vera. Can anyone tell me whether aloe vera is useful for the treatment of frostbite or not?
